🌹RRIS🌹 welcomed a festive touch with 🎍Kadomatsu🎍 at the school gate! (*”▽”)✨✨✨

The transition from yesterday’s Christmas 🎄 mood to an instant New Year atmosphere is delightful.

💡 What is Kadomatsu?
Among traditional New Year decorations, Kadomatsu is placed at gates or entrances as a marker to guide the Toshigami-sama (Year God) to homes. It incorporates three auspicious elements: pine, which remains evergreen throughout the year; bamboo, symbolizing rapid growth and vitality; and plum, which blooms in early spring, representing renewal. Typically, two Kadomatsu are placed as a pair—on the left, a black pine (male pine) with stiff leaves; on the right, a red pine (female pine) with softer leaves, representing complementary characteristics.

As we embrace this winter moment, the children tried their hand at snowflake kirigami, creating beautiful snow blossoms that now adorn 🌹RRIS🌹’s hall.

In this “Year-End, Year-Beginning” spirit, today’s cooking activity was Ozenzai (sweet red bean soup). Teachers enjoyed theirs with grilled mochi, while the children savored theirs with toasted fu (wheat gluten).

Our little friends who adore beans couldn’t contain their excitement when the azuki pack was opened—”I want to eat it just like this~! (੭ु´・ω・`)੭ु⁾⁾”
Patience, little ones! Let’s make Ozenzai first. While waiting, their eager faces and intense eye contact were simply incredible! Σ(・ω・ノ)ノ!💦💦💦

The infants silently enjoyed their Ozenzai, while some eagerly went for seconds.

The toddlers, too, finished their bowls in no time (´ω`)💕💕💕

The warm and delicious Ozenzai left everyone feeling cozy, both in heart and body.
Tomorrow is the final day of the school term. Let’s make it unforgettable~! (=゚ω゚)ノ✨✨✨
