Today, we challenged ourselves to make a traditional dish from Nagano Prefecture, oyaki!

The dedicated cooking instructor for 🌹RRIS🌹 shared their carefully crafted recipe!
🥔Tri-Color Oyaki
Ingredients: Potato, Consomme, Rice Flour, Spinach, Carrot, Oil, Butter

The dedicated cooking instructor for 🌹RRIS🌹 personally went shopping for the ingredients…

They peeled and chopped the potatoes… 🥔

They microwaved them! ( ̄ー ̄)b

They diligently washed and peeled the carrots… 🥕

They carefully boiled the spinach and drained the water… 🥬( ̄▽ ̄;)💦💦💦

With the preparations all set, it’s time to call in the Pre-K1 & Kinder friends and teachers! (=゚ω゚)ノ✨✨✨
Now, it’s time for everyone to start cooking together! ( `ー´)ノ!
Mash the microwaved potatoes 🥔 with consomme, rice flour, and butter, and keep kneading it all together!

Once the plain potato dough is ready, let’s move on to making the carrot dough next! 🥕
Grate the carrots with a grater, grating away with a nice “shari shari” sound! 🥕
Since it’s a bit tricky, the teacher will lend a helping hand! (=゚ω゚)ノ🌟🌟🌟

Next up, the spinach dough! 🥬
Let’s finely chop the spinach into small pieces!٩(”ω” )و🔪🔪🔪

Everyone keeps kneading the dough, kneading, and kneading… (; ・`д・´)💦💦💦
Roll, roll, roll them into balls…\(◎o◎;)/! 💦💦💦

Today has a lot of steps and a big batch to handle! (◎_◎;)💦💦💦
The friends head off to their Japanese lesson, and now the teachers will finish up the rest! (`・ω・´)ゞ!

Since time is tight, we’ll cook them with two frying pans! 🍳
( `ー´)ノ🔥🔥🔥

So, how did they turn out?
As you can see, the Infants are eating them with such delight—they look absolutely delicious!
Of course, the Toddlers, Pre-K1, and Kinder friends finished everything too! ٩( ”ω” )و✨✨✨
Normally, friends who completely reject green vegetables 🥬 ate them in one bite when they were made into oyaki!
They couldn’t resist! Σ(・ω・ノ)ノ!💦💦💦
They asked for seconds, but unfortunately, there are no more today… m(__)m💧
Dear parents, when the dreaded vegetables are grated or finely chopped and mixed into doughs and other dishes, they become a hidden treat that even picky eaters can enjoy!
They might surprisingly finish it all without a fuss!
For those parents who are already doing this… (ノД`)・゜・。
Let’s all brainstorm the next steps together! ( `ー´)ノ! Sharing success stories and helping our little ones fall in love with vegetables 🥬 would be the best outcome! (=゚ω゚)ノ✨✨✨ (Of course, it would be amazing if they just enjoyed eating everything! (”ω”)💕💕💕)

If we had made just one type of oyaki, it would have been a bit easier to prepare, but we wanted to get them to eat more vegetables 🥬, so we went for three colorful varieties.
To make the vegetables easier to eat, I grated and boiled them, then chopped them up!
The result was, of course, a big success!
💮 A huge thank you to the 🌹RRIS🌹 dedicated cooking instructor, along with the Pre-K1 & Kinder teachers and friends, for always making it such a fun and successful experience! (*”▽”)👏👏👏
