Bite-sized Quiche

💡What is Quiche?
Quiche is a traditional dish from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France, made with eggs and cream. It involves filling a pastry or tart crust with a mixture of ingredients like bacon, vegetables, cheese, and cream, combined with an egg mixture (known as “appareil”). This mixture is poured into the crust and baked in the oven for 20–30 minutes. Once baked, the quiche is typically cut into triangular slices, similar to pizza, for serving.
The origin of the word “quiche” is debated, but it is believed to come from the German word kuchen (meaning “cake”) or the Lorraine regional term kich (meaning “dish”). Like pasta, quiche comes in many varieties. Among them, the simple Quiche Lorraine, made with just bacon and cheese, is the most famous.
In the Lorraine region, quiche was a staple food for celebrating the arrival of spring during May festivals. Its festive appearance and the style of sharing slices make it a perfect dish for celebratory occasions.

Today, Toddler friends joined Pre-K1 & Kinder for a cooking session. Toddler friends had previously experienced cooking during holiday group activities and have gotten quite comfortable, so they were excited to help out today(´▽｀)ｂ！
The Toddlers used kitchen scissors to cut the ingredients, while the older kids used knives.
After mixing the chopped ingredients with the egg mixture, they wrapped everything in gyoza skins and cooked them on a takoyaki plate! 🍲っっっΣ(･ω･ﾉ)ﾉ！

Before we knew it, cute, round mini quiches were popping up one by one. The kids eagerly devoured the fresh quiches, and their faces lit up with happiness. There were even seconds, with some kids finishing four mini quiches in no time! ( *´艸｀)💕💕💕

Today’s cooking was a big success. We can’t wait for the next one! っっっ(´っ･ω･)っ💦💦💦💥🍴
