Curriculum

Inquiry-Based Learning × STEAM Education × SDGs
A curriculum where children are inspired to learn through play.

English
All childcare activities are conducted in English throughout the day. During “English” sessions, children focus on phonemic awareness, the alphabet, vocabulary, conversational expressions, and handwriting practice.
Math
Children learn concepts of mathematics such as quantity and shapes. They enjoy mathematics through various activities such as counting the number of toys, measuring the weight of vegetables, and doing origami.
Programming
Three year-old children learn programming concepts while playing with building blocks and LEGO, and from four and five year old onwards, they continue their programming education through STEMON (STEAM).
Science
We explore various topics such as natural environments, natural phenomena, living organisms, and plants. We investigate questions like “Why does the wind blow?” to understand the processes through experiments and observations
Social Studies
We encourage curiosity about the local community, including family, acquaintances, shops, hospitals, and police stations, and explore these topics. We also conduct Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) simultaneously.
Physical Education
We incorporate the Yasuda-style physical play instruction method to assess the developmental stages of each child’s mind and body, creating an environment where children can immerse themselves in play using their whole bodies.
Art
Children read a number of selected picture books for each theme, and then express their thoughts and what they want to convey through painting or sculpture, imagining as they envision possibilities.
Music
They enjoy onomatopoeia and various sounds, and explore different instruments to appreciate the differences in sound. They experience a variety of songs and melodies, finding joy in music itself.
Japanese lesson
They are exposed to a lot of Japanese through folktales, picture-story shows, and traditional card games. They also sing nursery rhymes. Through traditional Japanese games, the calendar, and annual events, they learn about Japan’s traditions and culture.
